One of the underappreciated joys of owning a holiday home at Pickmere Lake Country & Leisure Park is how much there is within easy reach — without having to travel far.
Here are some of the best things to do near Pickmere, Knutsford and Northwich.
Tatton Park is one of Cheshire's best-known estates, with formal gardens, a deer park, historic house, farm and a year-round programme of events. It is the kind of place owners return to regularly because it changes with the seasons.
Arley Hall offers one of the finest garden experiences in Cheshire, with a historic house, formal gardens, woodland walks and a relaxed café. It is ideal for a slower day out close to the park.
For owners who want to be outdoors and active, Delamere Forest offers walking, cycling, family activities and open space. It is particularly useful for owners with dogs, children or grandchildren.
Knutsford is one of Cheshire's most characterful market towns, known for independent shops, restaurants and cafés. Northwich provides practical convenience close by, with supermarkets, services and amenities that make regular or extended stays easier.
Chester is one of the great small cities in England, with Roman walls, the Rows, the cathedral and riverside walks — a full day out from Pickmere. Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the scale of the Lovell Telescope is worth seeing in person.
For days when the best thing is not to travel anywhere, The Farm Club is nearby. Open water swimming, outdoor yoga, breathwork, fitness sessions and a lakeside café can all become part of the wider Pickmere experience, subject to booking and access terms.
Sometimes the best thing is a walk from the park gate. Pickmere's lanes, fields and water make the area especially enjoyable in spring, on summer evenings and in early autumn.
If this sounds like the kind of life you would like more of, we would be glad to show you around.
